We have struggled a little bit early with NBA, but we are not missing by much last night's play on the Bucks was a game winner at the buzzer in OT by the Mavericks. The Bucks had a shot, but it was a bad shot by their rookie and then Dirk Nowitski made them pay. Tonight I feel we won't have to swet this game out which is why it's a slightly larger than my standard early 3 Dime POD's. Again starting the year conservatively. Suns @ Rockets (8:35 pm et) 3.5-DIME NBA POD[/]

Yes, they are missing Yao and McGrady, but this team plays defense and they have multiple scorers. They are more balanced without their two stars and I am convinced by what I have seen so far from the following players, Aaron Brooks, Battier, Scola, and Ariza form a tandem of 4 players that go for 20 points on any night. It was Brooks the other night scoring 33 against the Lakers in upset in the Lakers own building. They have 4 other solid players who mix in with 20+ minutes and can score in double figures as well: Chuck Hayes, Carl Landry, Chase Budinger, David Andersen.
Phoenix also coming on 1 day rest is 1-2 ATS this year. They have been on the road more than at home and I don't like how they match up here against the Rockets. The Rockets can and will play defense while the Suns only look to score. They shot 50.8% their 1st 9 games, but 40.1 % in their last 2. Houston just held the Lakers to 38.1 % from the field and out rebounded them 60-38. With the visiting Suns coming to town the unselfish Rockets will try to win back to back games on some of the premier teams in the West and I think they will win this game.
Lastly this line opened with the Rockets as small favors at -1.5 and with just 37% on the Rockets the line continues to jump to -3 and even at -3.5 in some places. I like the Rockets as they are a tough beat at home 8-2 ATS in their last 10 as home favorites.
